Manning Wins MVP But Backs Deserve the Credit

By Dex
After all of Super Bowl Fourty One, I find myself questioning the people around the world, and their choice for the most valuable player. Granted, without Peyton Manning's Presense, which was huge after an early kick return for a touchdown and an opening drive interception, the Colts would not have hoisted the Vince Lambardi Trophy without the play of running backs Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai. Rhodes, who rushed for 113 yards and Addai, who had 10 catches for 66 yards and ran for 77. The reason that the Colts were able to win, was because they settled in the running game, and quieted one of the best defensive lines in the game. Even though Tommie Harris was allowed to play in this game, It was like he never showed up. The weak play by the line, and the control of the offensive line is what made this game the way it truly was. I find it hard to believe that one touchdown pass, which was severely underthrown to Reggie Wayne, can win you an MVP. At Least Addai and Rhodes get a Super bowl ring out of it.
