This Week's Fantasy Pick Up of the Week is not going to surprise much of anybody. Plain and Simple: If Johnny Cueto is available in your fantasy league, PICK HIM UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last Week, We told you to go after Nate McLouth, outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates. What has he done since then? He is hitting .429 with 1 dinger, 7 runs and 2 stolen bases. Not a bad start to the season for the five tool player.
This week I tell you to pick up Cueto for one reason. He is a stud. His fastball reaches 97 on the gun, his slider moves in and out of the strike zone and of course he has a lot of fire. I would consider his value rising considerably within the next few weeks. Cueto is owned in just 30 % of leagues on ESPN, but he is here to stay. Cueto should be the Fransisco Lariano of 2008. If you need a starter, or just plain pitching, this is the guy you should hope is lying in the wings for you. He will get you strikeouts, innings and a good amount of wins.
Many thought it would be Homer Bailey stepping into this role for the Reds, but Cueto, the youngster with out AAA experience is the guy that could save your pitching staff.
