After a great day of baseball yesterday, Games will not get underway until tonight. Here is what we have for you in this edition of Around the Horn:

  • Trying to find some way to plug the bleeding in the pen, the Tigers have optioned Yorman Bazardo to AAA Toledo, while Clay Repada will make replace him on the big league club. This comes just after the tigers sign two lefties to minor league deals: Casey Fossum and Aaron Fultz. Fransisco CrucetaFINALLY got his visa and could be in the tigers pen at the end of the week.
  • I have a theory in why Prince Fielder is not hitting for power early in the season. Maybe it is because he is a vegetarian..... NOT!!! I don't get why people are buying into this idea. It is simply because Fielder starts off slow. Fielder only hit 6 home runs in April last year. He still has a lot of time to match that.
  • Hideo Nomo made his first appearance in three years last night against the Yankees. Of course, his splitter was nasty, but after giving up two homers, It is clear he still has a lot of work to do.
  • How about Tomorrow's best pitching match up. Ben Sheets vs. Johan Santana. Both have been sensational in this short season. Think about it though, this could be the 1-2 punch in New York next year, especially with the Brewers focusing on Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder and the possibility Pedro doesn't come back.
  • Many wonder what the mets will do when Moises Alou comes back. Well, Willie Randolph has made it clear that Alou is is guy in right field and it looks like Angel Pagan will lose his current starting job. If he continues to play well, look for someone to call and ask for his talents.
