Good Morning. How's this wonderful day treating you? It can't be worse than most Royals players last few days. I mean my goodness. So I apologize if you are a Kansas City fan. Don't worry, Football season is right around the corner. And for now, I'll get you some of the information from around the league.

Trade Talk:

  • Though The Texas Rangers are above .500 and have put a good run together this season, but many believe the Rangers are still looking to be sellers. The Baseball Times believes that Eddie Guardado would be a prime example of someone the Rangers could possibly dump to anyone who needs bullpen help. Other guys to look out for are Nelson Cruz, Kevin Millwood, Vincente Padilla, and any of the the Rangers outfielders not named Josh Hamilton, Brandon Boggs, or David Murphy.
  • The Yankees will be buyers in the next week or so. According to sources close to the New York Daily News, Hal and George and the gang still believe they can make a run for the playoffs. Well duh, I mean come on? Did you expect anything different. I wouldn't be surprised if an Ian Kennedy was dealt to bring in an outfield bat. The Yankees are high on C.C. Sabathia this off-season, so it wouldn't be that big of a loss if they could lock up Sabathia or sheets this off-season. I really think that Jason Bay will be a Yankee by the trade deadline.
  • The White Sox also seem to be on the block for starting pitching. Of course, GM Kenny Williams is going to be aggressive at the deadline. But the question is at what price? I still have a feeling that Joshua Fields will be untouchable to anyone, so that could throw off a good amount of deals. Starting pitching is probably the main target.
Other Baseball Talk:
  • Have you heard of this Kid, Matt Joyce out in Detroit? He has hit 10 dingers in 36 games at the big league level. How Impressive is that? Well, check this out. Mr. Joyce is one of only four players since 1999 who has hit 10 home runs in his first 36 big-league games. Mike Jacobs (29 games), Albert Pujols (32) and Adam Dunn (34) are the others. That is a pretty impressive group. He is also the 13th fastest to 10 Homers since 1953. I think we might have found a diamond in the rough.
  • Mike Hampton is expected to return to the rotation by next week. I don't believe it. Maybe that is because we have heard this line 550 times now since he signed that huge contract with the Braves. If he was as young as Rick Ankiel or Adam Loewen. I wish him all of luck, and I am pretty sure the Braves do as well.
The Rivalry:

  • Andy Tarnoff of onmilwaukee.com writes about the "Anti -Shirt" and it's correlation to the Brewers-Cubs Rivalry that has heated up since both teams have been in the hunt. I Found that article extremely interesting, considering I will be taking part in that rivalry July 30th at Miller Park. It should be a great game.
