The Jays have fired manager John Gibbons this afternoon. After losing 14 of the last 17, management has had enough. Former World Series winner Cito Gaston will take over for the Jays on an Interim basis. Gaston has seen highs and lows in his experience with the Jays. Hopefully he can get them back to where they belong.
Gaston will have to try and get Alex Rios back in order. Rios has struggled so far this season. It hasn't helped that John Gibbons wouldn't leave him be.
With talks of trade swirling in Toronto, it will be interesting to see what Gaston's role will be. Is it win now in Toronto? Or are we about to see the Travis Snyder's of the Organization.
