Though the catching position doesn't seem to be deep in the 2008 draft, there is one Florida State Seminole that sticks out. Buster Posey is an all around catcher. With a .471 average and great defensive skills shown off, Posey could be the safest pick in the top 10 this draft.

Posey, who was drafted by the Angels in the 50th round out of high school opted to attend Florida State as a short stop and pitcher. As a sophomore though, Florida State coaching asked Posey to move behind the plate to fill the void at a weak position. Posey hasn't looked back, becoming one of the best defensive catchers in the league. Scouts are happy with his plus arm strength and accuracy and really believe he could be an everyday player within a couple years. Looking at who needs catching depth, it becomes quite clear that a couple teams, including the Royals, Rays, White Sox and Reds are all good fits.

Posey was a 2007 All-ACC first team member. In 2007 Posey had a hit in 51 of the 62 games played and posted a .382 average. He had a career high seven RBIs against rival Miami that season.
