First it was Bill James, showing that numbers mattered more than Skill itself. Then it was Billy Beane, using these formulas to put together the best team available with the smallest payroll in baseball. Sabermetrics have caught on as a huge tool in evaluating talent. It has become a bridge between natural talent and actuality. It shows what is being done on the field compared to what could be.
With that said, Dexter Sports will be spending the summer helping out blogger N8Dogg of favre4america in testing out a formula that could become ultimately useful in the future. The statistic is called Runs Accounted For.
N8dogg and I will study the stat using our two favorite team's boxscores every night to see if we can find a trend, and further develop N8dogg's Work.
