As the day came to a close yesterday, Baseball fans around the world got to see two different sides of a very Dark Era in Baseball. For many of us there was a feud that was expected and for others the blame lingered on both sides of the room. Many Congressman aimed at Clemens to try and break him, while many others also tried to discredit the often untruthful Brian McNamee. Either we you look at it, this is a dark time for the sport of America. Roger Clemens though, looked like he was trying to cover something up. His best friend, Andy Pettite told everyone the truth. He never lied and has been forthcoming throughout the whole process. I commend Mr. Pettite for this. What happens next is uncertain, and the ability for Major League Baseball to recover is something that is in the far far future. Yesterday will go down as one of the darkest days of the game. Days that include the congressional hearing of the Black Sox of 1919 and the winding days that led to the banning of Pete Rose. Hopefully the game can recover. Hopefully this situation will become stabilized and the game can move on.
