The Marlins have signed first round pick Kyle Skipworth this afternoon. Skipworth was taken sixth overall out of Patriot HS in California. Skipworth has drawn comparisons to Twins' catcher Joe Mauer.

Skipworth will recieve a 2.3 million dollar signing bonus from the Marlins.

Other Draft Notes:
The mets have signed first round pick Ike Davis on Tuesday. Davis will get 1.5 million dollars in signing bonus cash. Davis has been compared to former Arizona Stater Jeff Larish.

The Reds have began talks with 7th pick Yonder Alonso. Alonso is fresh off the College World Series. Alonso is a client of Scott Boras, and will demand a lot of money.

Aaron Crow and the Washington Nationals have struggled to agree to terms on a contract. Crow and the Nationals hoped to reach a deal as soon as possible.

Eric Hosmer is also not worried about signing a deal anytime soon. Hosmer told the Kansas City Star that things should start to get serious in August. Wait... What? Doesn't he realize the deadline is August 15th? Oh yes, thats right... His agent is Scott Boras. The Royals signed first round pick Mike Moustakas seconds before the deadline last year.
