Let's take a look at some Orioles news and notes.
- Shortstop Freddy Bynum was designated today. Alex Cintron will take over as the starting shortstop for now. The Orioles have had five different starters at the position already this season. The Orioles have been buyers in the past. With Rafael Furcal and Edgar Renteria available in the off-season, I wonder if the Orioles will give them a shot. They do not have a top notch prospect in the organization. But then again, this is a new Orioles staff. The answer still might be from within.
- The Baltimore Sun looks at first round draft choice Brian Matusz.
- Brian Roberts reflects past trade rumors and what it would be like if he were playing in Wrigley against the Orioles on Tuesday.
- Matt Wieters, Jake Arrieta, and Brandon Tripp will represent the Frederick Keys in the Carolina league all star game on Tuesday. The Frederick Keys are 36-39 on the season.
