First It was Mel Ott, A 12 Time all-star, and a hall of famer in 1951. All of his 22 years a New York Giant. Don't Know him? Well, you should. He has more home runs in New York than the Great Bambino. He has more home runs in one stadium than anybody else (323 in the Polo Grounds).

Then it was the Say Hey Kid, Willie Mays. He is easily argued as one of the best players ever. His Legacy lies within what everyone refers to as "The Catch,"which is simply a moment that defines baseball. Want to know who baseball's real Iron Man is? Willie Mays played 13 consecutive seasons of 150 plus games. He was inducted first ballot. His legacy forever burned into Giant history.

Barry Bonds grew up in the Giant Dugout as a young child. He has been a staple of the bay area, breaking records for home runs in a season, and in a career. His unique swing, unforgiving personality, and unforgettable splash shots brought a new century of baseball to the San Fransisco faithful. Now that his reign is over, its time to move on . The Giants are looking to rebuild a team that has struggled at the least since the 2002 trip to the world Series. It's time for the Giants to make a move for the next Icon in their rich baseball history. The Giants would be the perfect fit For Alex Rodriguez.

Though Rodriguez would ask for a hefty contract, which would pull away from younger players, his money would be an investment for a Area that loves its superstars. Take Barry Bonds. He is hated around the league by fans alike, but in San Fransisco, he is a god. Rodriguez's contract would cover Bond's 15.8 Million and Double it, but without resigning Shortstop Omar Vizquel and Third Baseman Pedro Feliz, the Giants will recover almost six million of that other 15 million for the up coming seasons. Plus, the giants have not been shy when it comes to big Contracts. After all they did sign Starter Barry Zito to the biggest Contract for a pitcher ever.

Can you Imagine it now? Alex Rodriguez, smashing Bond's Home Run Record in his own city. Who else would be a better replacement to take over the record for splash hits into McCovey Cove. With such a young, but talented pitching staff, this team could make a push quickly if they brought on a hitter like Rodriguez to give the young developing players someone to protect them. If the Giants bring out the money bags, Alex Rodriguez would jump on the chance to be "the man" in San Fransisco. Who else would be a better fit, to continue this lustrous history of Giants greats.

Final Line: Alex Rodriguez's Best Option is the Giants, where he will be catered with love from fans, a young pitching staff, and a young team that will develop around him.
